Specifications of a SPACE Trailer

Weight and Capacity

First, the weight of a SPACE Trailer is approximately 625 pounds. Despite being lightweight, a SPACE trailer has a load capacity of 1,000 lbs. It can haul up to an 18-foot kayak on top of its Space Bars.

Dimensions

Additionally, a SPACE Trailer is the perfect size to haul behind any type of vehicle. The box height without the canopy is 84” long, 49” wide, and 13” high. Plus, the canopy has a sloped design. It adds about an extra 12” towards the front of your trailer. Alternatively, it adds about 6” towards the back of your trailer. The wheel and spring configuration determines the height to the top of the SPACE Bars. So, for example, a lowrider with 13” wheels measures to about 51” tall. A highrider with 15” wheels measures to about 55” tall. Therefore, the difference between the shortest trailer configuration to the tallest trailer configuration is only 4” in height.

Components

The base of the inside of the trailer has a ½” marine grade plywood poly-coated on both sides so it creates a non-skid surface inside the box. There are LED lights in the back and on the sides of the trailer so cars can see it while driving at night. All tire options are highway-rated to 80MPH. Additionally, the canopy is made of UV Protectant .25” thick HDPE with an aluminum frame.

Additional Specifications

In addition, the Space Bars have a diameter of 1.125”. Many types of products can attach to these bars, especially Yakima products, for instance. The weight of the tongue plus the spare tire is about 75 pounds. Attach the trailer to any vehicle with a 2” ball and a 4-flat wire connection.
