WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT
TONGUE LENGTHS?
Each tongue length option allows for different length kayaks or canoes to be mounted on the trailer while still allowing the SPACE Trailer canopy to easily open and close.
We offer 3 tongue length sizes: Standard, Long and XL.
STANDARD TONGUE
Total Length of Trailer: 11ft
(4ft tongue in front of box)
Haul up to a 10-foot kayak.
Cable Wire: 44 inches
LONG TONGUE
Total Length of Trailer: 12.5ft
(5.5ft tongue in front of box)
Haul up to a 15-foot kayak.
Cable Wire: 28 inches
XL TONGUE
Total Length of Trailer: 13.5ft
(6.5ft tongue in front of box)
Haul up to a 18-foot kayak.
Cable Wire: 14 inches
(might need a wire extender)
*If you plan on using a dual hitch with a hitch receiver bike rack, you will want to get a long or XL tongue.
Space Bars
With the addition of SPACE Bars or other rooftop mounts on your SPACE Trailer, you can easily mount kayaks and canoes on top.
Spare Tires
Spare tires are typically mounted on the tongue. If you plan to include a spare tire on your tongue, take the size of the tire into consideration when deciding which tongue you need for your SPACE Trailer.
