What Size Tongue Should I Get for My Trailer?
A commonly asked question that we get a lot is in reference to the size of tongue. Sometimes it’s because people want an opinion (we’ll give you one!) and other times it has to do with certain types of equipment. We are here to walk you through each length tongue, what size equipment each one holds, and pros and cons to each. That way you can easily answer the question: “What size tongue should I get for my trailer?”
The 6500 Long Tongue is 12.5 feet long. This gives you 5.5 feet of length in front of your trailer when hooked up to your vehicle. This size tongue can haul up to a 15-foot kayak. Now, we don’t want to be biased or anything, but this length tongue is our favorite! It’s like the Goldilocks of tongues—not too short, but not too long. It is by far our most popular length tongue, as well. If you are having a hard time deciding what size tongue to go with, this one is never a bad option. And honestly, I can’t think of any cons to this one!
Can i get a larger toung for my trailer? If so what do they cost?
